By the age of 10 I had realised 2 things. The first was that my mother when in the kitchen prepared meals that tasted heavenly and the other was that this was acknowledged by our extended family and our friends. I too wanted to become as good as her and so I started to observe my mother initially then I learnt step by step from her about what goes into each dish.  By the time I was 16 I had learned how to cook to a decent standard.  With the help and guidance that my mother shared with me, I learnt that anything in life can be achieved if you put your mind to it and dedicate yourself to it.

I wanted to pass on the same knowledge, skills and cooking techniques to my daughters and that is what inspired me to put all the recipes that were passed on to me by my mother as well as family and friends into this book so that my mother’s memory would live on through the book (May God Bless Her).
